I am the Lloyd V. Hackley endowed chair for the study of Capitalism and Free Enterprise and distingushed professor of economics at Fayetteville State University in the Department of Graduate and Professional Studies in Business of the Broadwell College of Business and Economics.  I am also an Associate Editor of the academic journal Public Finance Review.

I am currently working to build a forecast model of the Greater Fayetteville, NC metropolitan area and the state of North Carolina. I will be using this model to publish a quarterly Economic Outlook Report.

I currently teach Managerial Economics to MBA students but previously taught courses in microeconomics, game theory and strategy, and public economics. I conduct research on applied topics using a variety of applied theoretical and econometric methods. My research has been published in journals such as Public Choice, Applied Economics, Contemporary Economic Policy, European Journal of Political Economy, and The Journal of Happiness Studies. Most recently my research has come to focus on the societal impacts of economic freedom. Generally, I will research anything as long as it is interesting! Current projects investigate the relationship of regulation and economic freedom with social trust.
